One of the richer historical communities in Utah Valley, Lehi straddles Interstate 15 in the north central part of the Valley and is nearly bisected by State Highway 92.
Lehi is a very family-oriented town and has lots of wonderful family activities. "Lehi is a good place to live," has been the community's official slogan since 1911. In addition to a safe, quiet, family-oriented environment, the town offers such recreational opportunities as Saratoga Resort to the southwest, Wines Park, Willow Park, the local Olympic-size swimming pool, Veteran's baseball park, Heritage Theatre, and the world-famous Lehi Roundup rodeo, which for the past half-century has continually drawn top cowboys from all over America.
Lehi is also home to Thanksgiving Point, a 40-plus acre dynamic cultural arts and events center, home to the American Museum of Ancient Life, world-famous botanical gardens, movie theaters, restaurants, and an award-winning golf course, designed by former professional golfer and Utah son Johnny Miller.
Lehi is located in Utah County, Utah. It is named after Lehi, a prophet in the Book of Mormon. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 19,028. A 2005 estimate placed its population at 31,730. Lehi is one of the fastest-growing cities in the state.
The median income for a household in the city was $53,028, and the median income for a family was $55,664. Males had a median income of $40,739 versus $25,931 for females. The per capita income for the city was $16,074. About 5.0% of families and 5.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 7.2% of those under age 18 and 3.6% of those age 65 or over.
