Elberta Utah Map Elberta is a small rural community near the southwest tip of Utah lake, three miles west of Goshen. It was established in 1895 and was first called Mount Nebo for the nearby peak. The next name came from the Early Elberta peach orchards planted there by Ernest Rognan. Records indicate that the name was given intentionally to attract settlers. It reminds one of how Fruitland, Duchesne County, received its name. Today Elberta is still a fruitproducing town.
