Cedar Fort is the westernmost town in Utah County, in the Provo-Orem metro area. Cedar Fort is on U-73 west of the north end of Utah Lake and four and one-half miles north of Fairfield. The abundance of cedar trees suggested the name. On January 5, 1856, by legislative act, the settlements of Cedar Valley were organized into a county with Cedar Fort as the county seat, The entire area was later absorbed into Utah County.
Cedar Fort provides easy access to all major attractions including Utah Lake, Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Mountains.
